About This Lesson

The lesson then transitions to skill categorization, where learners match definitions to four key areas: Personal Skills (e.g., accountability, resilience), People Skills (e.g., empathy, persuasion), Workplace Skills (e.g., efficiency, resource allocation), and Applied Knowledge (e.g., quality control, tech literacy). Next, the core framework is introduced: the STAR method. Students learn how to systematically answer behavioral questions ("Tell us about a time when you...") by setting the scene (Situation), explaining their specific responsibility (Task), detailing the steps they took (Action), and highlighting the measurable impact (Result). The central media task involves listening to an online job interview featuring two candidates, Phillip and Camila. Students must identify which specific behavioral questions the candidates are answering and then fill out detailed STAR matrices with the exact information provided by each speaker. Finally, the lesson concludes with a set of practical, high-impact interview tips.
