Students answer multiple-choice questions to verify their understanding of the physiological "tingles", the difference between ASMR and frisson, common triggers (mouth sounds, personal attention, repetitive sounds), and the neurological condition of misophonia (intense negative reactions to specific sounds). The second media task features a video of actress Salma Hayek exploring ASMR. Students answer targeted comprehension questions about her hometown, the languages she speaks, her favorite language sounds, and her personal reflections on art, pain, and career fallbacks. Next, learners expand their lexical range by matching 12 specific ASMRist techniques (e.g., whispering, tapping, squishing, brushing, crackling) to their corresponding actions.
