This sets a lighthearted tone for the class. The focus then shifts to the animal kingdom. Students match 10 big cat species (like cheetah, jaguar, cougar, and lynx) to their pictures. This leads directly into an audio task exploring the question, "Are cats lazy?" Students listen for specific details about how many hours cats sleep, what a "polyphasic sleep pattern" is, how they react to stress, and what keeps a house cat active. Pivoting back to humans, the lesson introduces a famous Bill Gates quote: "I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it." This serves as the perfect bridge to the core video task, "Why Laziness Can Actually Be Good."
